The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee delegation members visited the Indian Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
At the Indian Embassy, H. E. Shri Robert Shetkintong, Ambassador, Indian High Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, warmly welcomed the delegation members and discussed academic issues, commemorating the 175th year of the IIT Roorkee & Alumni meet event. IIT Roorkee delegates invited the Ambassador to the upcoming event in Addis Ababa, celebrating 175th year of IIT Roorkee. During the visit both sides discussed several ways to enhance international academic collaboration with Ethiopia. IIT Roorkee proposed broader cooperation areas and apprised H. E. Shri Robert Shetkintong about long standing relations between IIT Roorkee and Ethiopian students and engineers.
IIT Roorkee delegation members were, the Deputy Director Prof M Parida, Dean of Resources and Alumni Affairs (DORA) Prof Partha Roy, Dean of International Relations Prof P Arumugam, Executive Officer from IR Office, Dr Ravikant Ranjan and ISAC Convener & PhD scholar Mr Ebissa Gadissa.
H. E. Shri Robert Shetkintong assured his presence during the event and extended his support for the same. He also discussed various schemes and proposals by the Indian Govt to enhance the academic collaborations with African countries and Ethiopian academic organizations.
