IIT Roorkee and the Far Western University (FWU), Nepal have signed an MoU to strengthen the academic and research collaboration between the two institutions. The signing of the MoU took place during the visit of the delegation of FWU to IIT Roorkee. The MoU was signed by Prof. K. K. Pant, Director, IITR, Prof. V.C. Srivastava, Dean of International Relations (IITR), Prof. Hem Raj Pant, Vice Chancellor, FWU and Prof. Yagya Raj Pathak, Registrar, FWU. Both Prof. K.K. Pant and Prof. Hem Raj Pant expressed their happiness on the addition of this new chapter in the partnership of IITR and FWU and offered full support from their side in fostering long-lasting and mutually beneficial collaborations between the two institutions.
The delegation from FWU also included Prof. Bhawani Chand Thakuri, Dean of Science and Prof. Kishan Datta Bhatta, Dean of Engineering. The delegates visited the International Relations (IR) Office to have an interaction with the officials (Prof V.C. Srivastava and Dr. Shantanu Wahal, Executive Officer) on the prospective partnership between the FWU and IITR. During the meeting, the group discussed the avenues of collaboration between overlapping research fields in IITR and FWU. There were also discussions on developing a joint doctoral degree program, student exchange programs, joint thesis supervision, and research collaborations between FWU and IITR.
