Prof. Hari S. Sharma, an expert in Pathology and Clinical Bioinformatics from Amsterdam University Medical Center, The Netherlands, visited IIT Roorkee. His visit began with a warm welcome at the International Relations (IR) office. The meeting started with an introduction to IIT Roorkee’s history, academic achievements, and its commitment to fostering international collaborations. The IR office highlighted ongoing international partnerships and significant outcomes from these collaborations.
Key potential areas for collaboration were identified, including joint research projects, student and faculty exchange programs, and the development of joint academic courses and workshops. Both parties recognized the mutual benefits, enhancing research capabilities and providing valuable international exposure for students and faculty.
Prof. Sharma delivered a lecture on “DNA microarray analytics reveals stunted angiogenesis and tissue remodeling in Human heart failure”, followed by a meeting with students where he discussed the lecture’s content, answered questions, and provided career advice related to the field of pathology and clinical bioinformatics. This session allowed students to deepen their understanding of the subject and gain valuable insights from a leading expert.
The visit concluded with a mutual agreement to formalize collaborations through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Prof. Sharma’s visit marked a significant step towards fostering international collaboration in Pathology and Clinical Bioinformatics, laying a strong foundation for innovative research and enhanced academic exchange.
