Welcoming Students from Niigata University, Japan to IIT Roorkee!

IR Office welcomed Prof. Kiran Sasidharan and a group of exchange students from Niigata University, Japan, to IIT Roorkee! These students are here to conduct fieldwork in the Himalayan Collisional Zone, focusing on geological features from the Himalayan Frontal Fault to the Main Central Thrust in the Uttarakhand Himalaya.

The students met with Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, and Prof. Sandeep Singh, Department of Earth Science, to discuss the scope and impact of their research. This exchange highlights the spirit of global academic collaboration and reinforces IIT Roorkee’s commitment to international research partnerships.

Additionally, Prof. V.C. Srivastava, Dean IR, and Prof. Sandeep Singh presented Mr. Rishabh, a previous exchange student, with a certificate of Completion for a short-term Exchange Program received from Niigata University.  We look forward to supporting their research journey in the breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayas!
