Prof. Masakazu Iwamura, Associate Professor at the Department of Core Informatics, Graduate School of Informatics, Osaka Metropolitan University, Japan, visited IIT Roorkee to explore collaborative opportunities.
During his visit, Prof. Iwamura, accompanied by Prof. R. Balasubramanian, Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, and Prof. Partha Pratim Roy, Department of CSE, visited the Director’s Office and met with Prof. K.K. Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee. Their discussions revolved around exploring innovative ways to leverage the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIT Roorkee and Osaka Metropolitan University. Engaging discussions were held on advancing academic and research synergies between the institutions.
Prof. Iwamura also visited the International Relations Office and had a productive interaction with Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, where they deliberated on expanding the scope of collaboration under the current MoU. Key areas discussed included cutting-edge joint research projects, enhanced student and faculty exchange programs, and co-development of advanced academic initiatives.
This visit reinforces the strong academic ties between IIT Roorkee and Osaka Metropolitan University and underscores a shared vision for fostering impactful international collaborations. Both institutions are committed to driving innovation and creating opportunities that benefit students, researchers, and faculty alike.
