The International Relations Office, IIT Roorkee, recently hosted a delegation of esteemed researchers, including Prof. Simon Lemaire from INRIA, Lille, France; Prof. Moreno Pintore from INRIA, France; Prof. Alexandre Ern from CERMICS; Prof. Bruno Després from Sorbonne University, Paris, France; and Zhaonan Dong from INRIA, Paris, France.
This delegation participated in the Indo-French Workshop on Innovative Numerical Methods for Modern Engineering Problems, organized by the Department of Mathematics under the leadership of Prof. Ram Jiwari. The workshop was an excellent platform for exchanging expertise on advanced numerical techniques to tackle modern engineering challenges. Both IIT Roorkee and the visiting institutions explored opportunities for joint research in areas such as computational modeling, numerical analysis, and engineering applications.
Accompanied by Prof. Ram Jiwari, the delegation visited the International Relations Office and had fruitful discussions with Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations. Prof. Srivastava highlighted the immense potential for interdisciplinary research and the significance of leveraging each institution’s unique strengths to drive innovation and address global challenges. The visiting researchers expressed their enthusiasm for the proposed initiatives and showed a strong commitment to developing a productive and lasting partnership.
