Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, recently welcomed a distinguished delegation from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, to explore the expansion of the Dual PhD Program through an enhanced Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Discussions focused on broadening the agreement to include additional departments and Master’s programs, further strengthening academic and research collaborations.
The delegation included: Dr. Michael Bradley, Dean, College of Engineering, Dr. Ajay Dalai, Professor, College of Engineering, Dr. Venkatesh Meda, College of Engineering, and Mr. Derek Tiessen – International Partnerships Specialist, International Office.
During their visit, the delegation engaged in insightful discussions with Prof. K.K. Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee, alongside key faculty members, including Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee, Prof. Dr. Akshay Dvivedi, Dean of Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy, IIT Roorkee, Prof. Prasenjit Mondal, Head, Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Roorkee, Prof. Basheshwar Prasad and Prof. Shishir Sinha faculty of the Department of Chemical Engineering, IITR. The fruitful discussions emphasized collaboration in research, academic mobility, and the integration of innovative approaches to the Dual PhD Program.
Additionally, the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Roorkee, hosted an Interactive Session where students and faculty gained valuable insights into the Dual PhD Program with the University of Saskatchewan. The session encouraged insightful exchanges on academic partnerships and research collaboration, laying a strong foundation for future initiatives and cooperation.
