The delegation included Prof. Jean Baptiste Avrillier, Director, Prof. Emilie Poirson, Vice Director, Prof. Vincent Freemon, Director of International Relations, and Prof. Siddhartha Harsha Ommi, who engaged in meaningful discussions on academic and research collaborations.
During their visit, the delegation explored several departments across IIT Roorkee. At the Department of Civil Engineering, they met Prof. Praveen Kumar, Head of Civil Engineering, along with faculty members to discuss potential areas of cooperation. Similarly, at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Prof. Andallib Tariq, Head of the Department, and fellow faculty members welcomed them and exchanged insights on interdisciplinary research possibilities. Their visit to the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering included discussions with Prof. Nagendra P. Pathak, Head of ECE, and faculty members, focusing on advancements in technology and global academic partnerships.
Additionally, the delegation visited the International Relations Office, where they engaged in discussions with Prof. V.C. The meeting focused on exploring several collaborative opportunities, including Dual/Joint PhD programs, Dual/Joint Master’s degree programs, and participation in the Erasmus Mundus Program.
A key highlight of the discussions was the dual/joint Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, particularly in concrete and structural studies. Opportunities for short-term programs and fellowships under Erasmus Mundus with a 20% grant were also explored, alongside tuition policies—no tuition fees for PhD programs, while Master’s programs requiring €12,000 per year.
