Exploring Academic Collaboration between IIT Roorkee & VŠB TU Ostrava, Czech Republic

Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee, recently visited VŠB – Technická univerzita Ostrava, Czech Republic, to explore avenues for academic collaboration and technological exchange. During his visit, Prof. Srivastava held productive discussions with Prof. Radim Čajka, Vice-Rector for Quality and Investment Construction, Mr. Jakub Němec, and Prof. Zuzana Strochova from the International Office.

The dialogue centered on enhancing quality assurance practices, infrastructure development, and expanding international exchange programs for students and faculty. Both institutions expressed strong interest in launching joint initiatives in engineering education, including co-supervised doctoral programs and collaborative research in hydrology and civil engineering.

Prof. Srivastava also met with IIT Roorkee alumni Dr. Navneet Chauhan (Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Roorkee), Dr-Swati Verma, (Department of Chemistry), and Dr. Meenu Singh (Applied Mathematics & Scientific Computing, IIT Roorkee), who are currently serving in academic and research roles at VSB. Their continued contributions to the university provided a valuable platform for strengthening alumni engagement and exploring mentorship opportunities for future scholars.
