New Horizons in Education and Research: IIT Roorkee Signs MoU with University of Leeds

We are proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IIT Roorkee, India, and the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, marking a significant step forward in fostering international academic and research collaboration.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Shearer West, Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Leeds, and Prof. K. K. Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee. Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee, is the champion of this initiative, which aims to deepen institutional ties and create impactful opportunities for students and faculty alike.

As part of the recent activities under this partnership, both institutions have initiated a virtual roundtable to explore collaborative research in sustainable development and advanced engineering. Plans are also underway to launch a student exchange program in the upcoming academic year, along with a joint webinar series focused on climate resilience and infrastructure innovation.

This MoU marks the beginning of a dynamic partnership rooted in shared aspirations for world-class education, impactful research, and cross-cultural learning. By bridging expertise across continents, it sets the stage for collaborative innovation and empowers scholars to tackle global challenges together.
