On 14th July 2025, a distinguished delegation from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, led by Prof. K.K. Pant, Director IIT Roorkee and accompanied by Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava (Dean, International Relations) and Prof. S.P. Harsha (Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering), visited Changwon National University (CNU) in South Korea as part of a strategic initiative to strengthen global academic and research collaborations.

The IIT Roorkee delegation held in-depth and strategic discussions with senior leadership at Changwon National University (CNU), including President Prof. Park Min Won and a distinguished panel of faculty members: Prof. Kim Tae Shik (Dean, IR & Department of Chinese Studies); Prof. Kim Yeong Chan (Vice Dean, International Affairs), Prof. Seokho Kim (Dean, GAIST), Prof. Jaesun Lee (Vice Dean, GAIST), Prof. Haesung Jung (Vice Dean), Prof. Yeonguk Son (Department of Chemical Engineering), and other faculties and staff of CNU. These deliberations explored collaborative opportunities in areas such as sustainable technologies, energy storage solutions, chemical engineering innovation, and advanced materials development, alongside initiatives to foster cultural and academic exchange.

The culmination of the visit was marked by the official signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signaling a transformative chapter in Indo-Korean academic collaboration. This pivotal agreement sets the foundation for multidisciplinary joint research initiatives, co-developed academic curricula that transcend borders, and dynamic student and faculty mobility programs designed to foster global knowledge exchange. The MoU embodies a shared vision for innovation, excellence, and international synergy, positioning both institutions at the forefront of higher education and research on a global scale.
