On July 31, 2025, the International Relations Office at IIT Roorkee had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Rajesh Karki from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He was accompanied by Prof. C.P. Gupta, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Roorkee, and Mr. Bahaaldeen Ahmedaltegani Basheir Mohammed, an international Ph.D. scholar.
The delegation met with Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, to discuss ongoing academic engagement and future collaborative opportunities. The visit reaffirmed the strong partnership between IIT Roorkee and the University of Saskatchewan, established under the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The collaboration between IIT Roorkee and the University of Saskatchewan continues to thrive through a range of impactful academic initiatives. Joint research efforts are actively underway in critical areas such as power systems reliability, renewable energy integration, and smart grid technologies, addressing global challenges in sustainable energy. The partnership also facilitates the exchange of faculty and Ph.D. scholars, enabling short-term research visits that foster cross-institutional learning and innovation. Additionally, both institutions are engaged in co-supervision of doctoral theses and collaborative publications, further strengthening the academic bond and contributing to high-quality research output in the field of Electrical Engineering.
