IIT Roorkee Delegation Visits the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), Sri Lanka

Prof. K. K. Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee, along with Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, and Prof. S. H. Upadhyay, Head, Centre for Space Science & Technology, recently visited the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), Kandy, Sri Lanka, to explore potential collaborations in research and academics.

The team was warmly welcomed by Prof. M.A.K. Lakshman Dissanayake, Officiating Director & Research Professor, Condensed Matter Physics; Prof. Lalith Jayasinghe, Senior Research Professor and Project Leader, Natural Products Project, along with other faculty members and staff of NIFS.

During the interaction, Prof. Pant highlighted IIT Roorkee’s impressive global reach, research achievements, and exciting opportunities for international collaboration. The discussion explored plans for joint research initiatives, vibrant faculty and student exchange programs, and groundbreaking projects in cutting-edge science and technology fields. This visit marks a key milestone in strengthening academic ties and fostering lasting partnerships between IIT Roorkee and NIFS Sri Lanka. It reflects a shared vision to push the boundaries of scientific discovery and innovation, reinforcing the strong bond between India and Sri Lanka in nurturing future-ready knowledge and skills.
