Prof. K.K. Pant, Director IIT Roorkee, along with Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee, and Prof. Dr S H Upadhyay, Head of the Centre for Space Science and Technology (CSST), recently visited the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. The visit sought to strengthen academic and research collaborations between IIT Roorkee and premier institutions in Sri Lanka.
During the visit, the delegation held discussions with key officials at the University of Peradeniya, including Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ranjith Pallegama; Prof. Lilantha Samaranayake, Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Panduka Neluwala, Acting Director of the International Relations Office, and other faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering.
The primary focus of the visit was to develop a Letter of Intent (LoI) to initiate collaborative efforts in faculty and student exchange, joint research projects, academic networking, and workshops. Both institutions expressed a strong commitment to establishing a long-term partnership that promotes innovation, technology development, and mutual capacity building.
