IIT Roorkee was delighted to host Prof. Dr. Thomas Schaub, Senior Principal Scientist at BASF, Germany, and Honorary Professor at the University of St Andrews, UK.
During his visit, Prof. Schaub delivered an insightful Institute lecture titled “Collaborative Industrial–Academic Research for the Use of Homogeneous Catalysis in Circular Processing and the Utilization of Renewable Feedstocks.” The talk highlighted the critical role of collaboration between academia and industry in advancing innovation and sustainability in chemical sciences.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students and researchers to engage directly with Prof. Schaub and gain insights into cutting-edge industrial research and its real-world applications.
Prof. Schaub, accompanied by Dr. Puneet Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, IIT Roorkee, and Prof. Arun Kumar, Department of Chemistry, Doon University, Dehradun, also visited the Office of the Dean (International Relations) and met Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee, where they discussed ongoing research in sustainable chemistry and advanced catalysis.
Such interactions are expected to strengthen academic–industrial partnerships and contribute to the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for global challenges.
