The International Relations Office, IIT Roorkee, was delighted to host Dr. Baljit Singh, Vice President (Research), and Dr. Ajay Dalai, Distinguished Professor, University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
During their visit, the delegation visited the Department of Chemical Engineering, where they were warmly received by Prof. Prasenjit Mondal, Head of the Department, Prof. Basheshwer Prasad, and other faculty members. They interacted with faculty and students, engaging in insightful discussions focused on exploring collaborative opportunities in research, innovation, and academic exchange between the two institutions.
The delegation also called upon Prof. K. K. Pant, Director, IIT Roorkee, and attended a meeting held in the Board Room, James Thomson Building. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Pant and attended by Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, and Prof. N. K. Navani, Dean of Academic Affairs, along with several Heads of Departments and senior faculty members.

Among those present were Prof. Prasenjit Mondal, Head, Department of Chemical Engineering; Prof. Sanjoy Ghosh, Head, Department of Biosciences & Bioengineering; Prof. Vipul Rastogi, Head, Department of Physics, and Prof. Sugata Gangopadhyay, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering.
During the discussions, both institutions agreed to initiate collaborations in multiple disciplines, with special emphasis on launching a Dual Degree Ph.D. program in the fields of Computer Science and Electronics Engineering. The groundwork for this collaboration has already been laid, and both institutions will soon formalize the program to promote high-impact, interdisciplinary research and academic exchange.

Further collaborations in Physics and Biosciences & Bioengineering were explored, focusing on advanced materials, biotechnology, sustainable technologies, and interdisciplinary research. Both institutions expressed interest in joint research projects, exchange programs, and collaborative workshops to foster innovation and address global scientific challenges.
