The Office of Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee was pleased to host International experts Prof. Ruchi Sharma, Scientist at ATLANT 3D Nanosystems ApS, and Dr. Mikel Mangold, Partnerships Manager at ATLANT 3D, from Denmark during their visit to the Institute on 16-17 December 2025.
During their visit, Prof. Sharma and Dr. Mangold met with the Dean (International Relations), Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava and research scholars at the IR Office. The meeting focused on discussions related to international research collaboration and strengthening industry–academia partnerships, with particular emphasis on emerging technologies in advanced materials and nanotechnology.
As part of their institutional interactions, Prof. Sharma also visited the Institute Instrumentation Centre (IIC), IIT Roorkee, where she met Prof. Pravindra Kumar (Deshwal), Head, IIC, along with other faculty members and technical staff. The visit provided an opportunity to explore advanced research facilities and instrumentation capabilities available at the Institute.
In addition, Prof. Sharma visited the Department of Chemistry, IIT Roorkee, and interacted with Prof. R. K. Dutta, Officiating Head of the Department, along with other faculty members. Discussions were held on ongoing research activities and potential avenues for future academic and research collaboration.

The academic engagement concluded with an insightful guest lecture organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Roorkee, titled “AI-Accelerated Materials Discovery with DALP®”, delivered by Prof. Ruchi Sharma and Dr. Michael Mangold. The lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students. The session highlighted advanced materials innovation, nanotechnology, and the transformative potential of Direct Atomic Layer Processing (DALP®)—a cutting-edge technology enabling programmable, localized atomic-scale material processing for AI-driven materials discovery.
