Technical University of Košice (TUKE), Slovakia, Visits IIT Roorkee: MoU Signed for Academic and Research Collaboration

A high-level academic delegation from the Technical University of Košice (TUKE), Slovakia, recently visited the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee to explore avenues for academic and research collaboration between the two institutions.

The visiting delegation comprised:
·        Dr. Juraj Gazda, PhD, Professor, Department of Computers and Informatics, and Vice-Rector for Innovation and Technology Transfer
·        Dr. Jan Pitel, PhD, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Mobility
·        Dr. Martin Chovanec, Member of the Rector’s Collegium
·        Dr. Karel Saksl, DrSc., Dean, Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling
·        Prof. Suneel Yadav
·        Prof. Gaurav Pandey

During their visit, an MoU signing ceremony was held in the Board Room of the James Thomson Building, IIT Roorkee, in the presence of Prof. K. K. Pant, Director IIT Roorkee, and Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee. Discussions during the ceremony focused on strengthening institutional cooperation, innovation-driven research, and international academic partnerships.

The delegation also visited key academic departments of the Institute. At the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, they interacted with Prof. Dr Rajdeep Niyogi, Officiating Head of the Department. At the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, the delegation met Dr. Akshay Dvivedi, Head of the Department, and discussed potential areas of academic and research collaboration.

In the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, the delegation interacted with Prof. Vikram V. Dabhade, Officiating Head of the Department, and all faculty members, where detailed discussions were held on joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange, and collaborative academic programmes.

We sincerely thank the Technical University of Košice delegation for their visit, which has opened new horizons for joint research, innovation, and academic exchange.
