Visit of TU Dresden and Bionatic GmbH & Co. KG, Germany delegation to IIT Roorkee – Indo-German Research Collaboration (IGSTC 2+2)

A delegation from TU Dresden and Bionatic GmbH & Co. KG, Germany, recently visited the Saharanpur Campus of IIT Roorkee as part of the ongoing research collaboration under the project “BIOMOPAC: Biobased Functional Molded Fiber Packaging from Regional Agricultural Residues,” funded by the Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC 2+2).

The delegation included Dr. Roman Maletz, Mr. René Kleinert, Ms. Lina Staffa from TU Dresden and Mr. Frederik Patrice Feuerhahn, Manager at Bionatic GmbH & Co. KG. During their visit, the delegates interacted with faculty members and discussed key aspects of project implementation, work packages, and strategies to strengthen bilateral academic–industry collaboration under the project.

As part of the visit, the delegation, along with Prof. Vibhore Kumar Rastogi, Department of Paper and Packaging Technology, also visited the International Relations (IR) Office, IIT Roorkee, where they met with Prof. P. Arumugam, Officiating Dean (International Relations), Dr. Shantanu Wahal, Consultant – International Cooperation, and the IR Office staff. In addition, the delegation met with Prof. Vivek Malik, Dean (Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy), and Prof. Amit Agarwal, Associate Dean, Corporate Interaction, to discuss long-term research collaboration, industry linkage, technology translation, and administrative aspects of the project.

The interactions strengthened institutional and industry–academia collaboration, enabled alignment on project goals, and opened avenues for joint research, capacity building, and sustainable commercialization of project outcomes under the Indo-German partnership.

The visit reinforced the Indo-German partnership, facilitated alignment on project objectives, and laid the groundwork for expanded joint research, academic exchange, and industry-oriented outcomes under the IGSTC 2+2 framework.
