Visit of Prof. Satish Singh, Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, France, to IIT Roorkee

Prof. Satish Singh, Professor of Geophysics at Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, France, recently visited IIT Roorkee. During his visit, he visited the International Relations (IR) Office, IIT Roorkee, along with Prof. Vipul Silwal, Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Roorkee, and met with Prof. KARUN RAWAT, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee.

The meeting focused on exploring potential avenues for academic and research collaboration between IIT Roorkee and the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris. Discussions included opportunities for joint research in geophysics, marine geosciences, seismic imaging, and lithosphere–asthenosphere boundary studies. Both sides expressed keen interest in faculty exchange, joint supervision of doctoral students, collaborative research proposals under international funding schemes, and organizing joint workshops and seminars in frontier areas of Earth sciences. The visit laid the foundation for strengthening institutional ties and promoting long-term scientific cooperation.

The visit of Prof. Satish Singh marks an important step toward fostering global research partnerships and enhancing collaboration in advanced geophysical sciences between the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, and the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris.
