Strengthening International Collaboration between IIT Roorkee and TU Dresden, Germany under the DAAD Arch4Health Global Project

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Maike Heitkamp-Mai, Chief Sustainability Officer at Technische Universität Dresden (TU Dresden), Germany, as part of the University Management Exchange under the DAAD SDG Partnerships Project – Arch4Health Global.

In collaboration with the Office of International Relations, and with the participation of Prof. Gaurav Raheja, Department of Architecture and Planning, IITR, a participatory workshop titled “Strategy for Inclusivity through Internationalisation” was organised. The workshop provided students with an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange perspectives, and gain insights into the importance of inclusivity, internationalisation, and global collaboration in higher education.

During her visit, Dr. Maike Heitkamp, along with Prof. Gaurav Raheja, visited the Office of International Relations, where they met with Prof. KARUN RAWAT, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee, and Prof. Kritika Kothari, Department of Water Resources Development and Management, Coordinator, Global Partnerships & International Mobility Programs.

The interaction included discussions on strengthening institutional collaboration between IIT Roorkee and TU Dresden, exploring opportunities for joint academic and research initiatives, and promoting inclusive internationalisation and sustainability in higher education. The exchange also highlighted the importance of university management collaboration in fostering knowledge-sharing, strengthening global partnerships, and integrating sustainability and inclusivity into institutional practices.

These engagements reflect IIT Roorkee’s continued commitment to advancing international partnerships, fostering inclusive academic environments, and promoting global cooperation in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
