Prof. K.M. Liyanage (Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering), University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and Chairman of Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka, visited IIT Roorkee on February 20, 2020. In the meeting held at the International Relations Office, possibilities to encourage academic and research-based collaboration between the institutions, cooperation with the SPARK internship programme, faculty exchange, and joint degree programmes were discussed. The dignitaries present in the meeting were Prof. B.R. Gurjar (Dean of Resources and Alumni Affairs), Prof. M. Shrikhande (Dean of Sponsored Research & Industrial Consultancy), Prof. P. Gopinath (Assoc. Dean Academic Affairs – Admission), Prof. A.A. Kazmi (Professor, Department of Civil Engineering) and Prof. P. Arumugam (Assoc. Dean International Relations) along with IR Executive Officers.
He also met Prof. N.P. Padhy (Dean of Academic Affairs), Prof. S. Dasgupta (HoD, Department of Electronics and Communication), and Prof. Yogesh Kumar Sharma (Department of Physics). He visited the H.M. Medlicott Museum at Department of Earth sciences, Archive Gallery at Central Library and various Labs of Department of Electronics and Communication, Department of Electrical Engineering, and Department of Physics.
