The Natural Hazard workshop for the Indian Himalayas is organized by the Department of Hydrology, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in collaboration with the University of Potsdam, Germany on October 18, 2023. The workshop brings together researchers active in studying the hydrological and geomorphological aspects of the Himalayan region to an interactive platform along with enriching expert lectures and hands-on sessions. The theme of the workshop "Exploring the Himalayan Frontiers: Geomorphological and Hydrological aspects" focuses to delve into the intricate and dynamic relationships between various natural phenomena, particularly landslides, river discharge, and the systematic analysis of rivers, in the challenging and unique terrain of the Indian Himalayas.
The keynote talks will be given by experts on the emerging hydro-climatological extremes, risk, vulnerability and adaptation in the Indian Himalayan Region.
Panel discussions will focus on the future of research in Indian Himalayas and try to highlight the multidisciplinary aspect of the natural-hazard domain
Co-PREPARE believes in fostering the scientists of the future and as such, we are pleased to extend Co-PREPARE Conference Grant (CAG) for early career researchers to participate in Hands-On Session. Eligible candidates will be selected for CAG to participate in Hands on sessions.
