An online meeting was held between IIT Roorkee (IITR) and Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Indonesia on March 28, 2023. Prof Dessy Ariyanti, Coordinator of the International Office of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof Nita Aryanti, Head of the S1 Study Program; Prof Yayuk Astuti, Professor of Chemistry; Prof Tutuk Djoko Kusworo, Professor of Chemistry; and others participated from UNDIP, Indonesia. Whereas Prof V C Srivastava, Dean-International and Dr Shantanu Wahal, Executive Officer- International Relations participated from IITR. Two Indonesian students at IITR, Ms Khadijah and Mr Nutri also participated in the meeting. This meeting was organized to follow-up on the discussions taken place between the two institutes during the QS Higher Ed Summit in Goa on Feb 19-21, 2023 in New Delhi.
The group discussed various possibilities of collaborations between the two institutes including setting up department level exchange programs for students and faculty members, internships programs for students, joint/dual degree programs, immersion program for students for cultural exchange etc. It was decided that a draft MoU will be sent by IITR to UNDIP which will be reviewed and further processed at UNDIP. Meanwhile, faculty visits from the two institutions will be organized to discuss activities provisioned in MoU in detail and to finalize the process of organizing joint conferences, seminars etc.
