“Himgiri Apartments Hostel Day Celebrated with International Flair and Sustainability Focus” at IIT Roorkee!

On September 25th, 2024, the international Students at Himgiri Apartments, IIT Roorkee, celebrated their Hostel (Bhawan) Day. Himgiri Apartments serve as a residence for international students, post-doctoral fellows, and newly joined faculty members. The event was graced by the Director of IIT Roorkee, Prof. K. K. Pant, along with Dean International Relations, Prof. V. C. Srivastava, Dean of Student Welfare, Prof. Barjeev Tyagi, Associate Deans, Chief Wardens, and Wardens of other hostels. They presented awards and tokens of appreciation to the competition winners.

The event was organized by Chief Warden of Himgiri Apartment, Prof. Rakesh Ranjan and the International Students Affairs Council (ISAC) members, with the theme “Clean & Green Himgiri,” which promoted sustainability and community spirit. Competitions were held for the best Himgiri Apartment logo design, best room, and outstanding cleaning staff. The celebration also featured vibrant cultural performances by the diverse Himgiri community, with students from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Sudan, the Philippines, Tanzania, Burundi, Ethiopia, and Congo.
