The International Relations Office, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, recently hosted Dr. Sukanya Bhowmik from the University of Potsdam, Germany.
During her visit, Dr. Bhowmik visited the International Relations Office, where she met with the Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee, Prof. KARUN RAWAT. The meeting was attended by faculty members including Prof. P. K. Pandey (Head, Institute Computer Centre), Prof. Premlata Jena (Department of Electrical Engineering), and Dr. Neetesh Kumar (Department of Computer Science & Engineering).
The interaction focused on exploring opportunities for academic and research collaboration in the fields of electrical engineering, computer science, and allied interdisciplinary domains. Discussions also included specific areas such as the operation and control of electric vehicles, UPS controller systems, advanced computing, and emerging technologies, along with potential joint research initiatives and collaborative projects.
Dr. Bhowmik also met with the Director IIT Roorkee, Prof. K. K. Pant, along with the Dean IR, Prof. Karun Rawat where broader avenues for institutional collaboration and strengthening international partnerships were discussed.
As part of her visit, she toured the Department of Computer Science & Engineering along with Prof. Neetesh Kumar and visited key laboratories, gaining insights into ongoing research activities, infrastructure, and innovation at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
