The delegates from France visited IIT Roorkee to promote trilateral collaboration between the University of Montpellier, IRD France and IIT Roorkee. The University of Montpellier was represented by Prof. Pascal Gantet (Professor, University of Montpellier) and IRD was represented by Dr Stefan Jouannic (IRD Researcher, LMI RICE) and Dr Gilles Boulet (IRD Senior Researcher; CESBIO (Toulouse University, CNRS, CNES, IRD, INRAE) & Indo- French Cell for Water Sciences, Indian Institute of Science). The delegation visited IIT Roorkee on January 9, 2023 and interacted with the faculty members of the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering and the Department of Hydrology.
The delegation visit included a board room meeting with Prof. K. K. Pant (Director, IIT Roorkee) and Prof. U.P. Singh (Deputy Director, Professor-Chemistry), and the faculty members of IIT Roorkee. The following IIT Roorkee representatives participated in this board room meeting:

The group discussed the proposal to establish joint labs and centres of IRD at IIT Roorkee, Exchange programs of Students and Faculties, Joint Degree programs, and Joint PhD. Programs, and having more fruitful collaborations with relevant agreements. The discussions were also about the arrangement of invited talks and seminars at both institutions and the IRD centre.
The IR Office also hosted the meeting between the incoming delegates and IIT Roorkee faculty members and discussed various collaborative opportunities. This meeting was chaired by Prof. P. Arumugam (Dean IR) and from IR Office Dr Shantanu Wahal (EO, IR Office) and Dr Ravikant Ranjan (EO, IR Office) participated in the meeting.
