An online meeting was held between IIT Roorkee and the Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia on December 27, 2022. Prof I Made Andi Arsana, Head of the Office of International Affairs; Prof Teuku Faisal Fathani, HoD-Civil and Environmental Engineering; Prof Wiratni Budhijanto, Chemical Engineering; Dr Ali Awaludin, Vice Dean for Research, Community Service and Partnership; Mr M Zuhdy Irawan, Secretary of Department Civil and Environmental Engineering; Dr RirinTri N, International Relations; Ms Shinta Ayu Kusuma, Coordinator for Cooperation; and others participated from the Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. Whereas Prof P Arumugam, Dean-International Relations; Prof Ashish Pandey, HoD-WRDM; Prof Bhaskar Jyoti Deka, Assist Prof-Hydrology; and Dr Shantanu Wahal, Executive Officer- International Relations participated from IIT Roorkee. This meeting was organized to follow-up on the discussions taken place between the two institutes during the QS Higher Ed Summit in Indonesia on November 9-10, 2022 in New Delhi.
The group discussed various possibilities of collaborations between the two institutes including setting up department level exchange programs for students and faculty members, internships programs for students, joint/dual degree programs etc. It was decided that the follow-up meetings will be done within specific groups of faculty members to explore the possibilities of joint/ collaborative research projects between the two institutes and move forward on previously discussed activities.
