On 06 September 2025, IIT Roorkee held an online meeting with Turin Polytechnic University, Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to explore avenues of academic and research collaboration.
The meeting was attended by Prof. V. C. Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee, and Prof. Ankit Agarwal, Department of Hydrology, IIT Roorkee, along with distinguished faculty members from Turin Polytechnic University including Prof. Khojakbar Karimov, Prof. Nurilla Mahamatov (Head, CSE), Prof. Bakhtiyor Yokubov, Prof. Erkin Khaltursunov (Civil Engineering), and Prof. Shohrux Umrov.
During the discussions, both institutions agreed to sign a Generic MoU and identified several opportunities for collaboration. These include the development of Dual/Joint Ph.D. Programs, student and faculty exchange initiatives, and participation in the Erasmus Mundus Program.
In addition, the universities also discussed hosting students under the ITEC program and working jointly on curriculum development in Cybersecurity, IT, and CSE.
