Prof Chin Tsan Wang, Director and Ms Ellie Chiang Dy. Director of Science and Technology division of Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC) in India visited IIT Roorkee campus on Oct 06, 2021. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Ajit Kr Chaturvedi, Director IIT Roorkee, which was followed by a meeting between the delegates from TECC and a group of senior faculty members from IIT Roorkee.
The participants from IIT Roorkee included Prof Anand Joshi, Prof Sandeep Singh, Prof ML, and Prof P Arumugam who discussed the opportunities of academic and research collaborations between the universities of Taiwan and IIT Roorkee. It was decided that both TECC and IIT Roorkee will work closely to remove any bottlenecks in the process and to facilitate the development proposed connections such as starting Joint Masters and PhD degree programs and student/faculty exchange programs between IIT Roorkee and Taiwanese universities, establishment of Taiwan Education Center at IIT Roorkee, etc.
The guests from TECC also visited the ADMIRE lab in the dept of Electrical Engineering where Prof. NP Padhy, PI of the project apprised the group about the research being conducted at the lab and its future applications. The visit of the delegation from TECC concluded with the signing of MoU between IIT Roorkee and Chang Gung University, Taiwan.
