A five-member delegation from Nepal visited IIT Roorkee to explore collaborations with different departments of IIT Roorkee. The International Relations (IR) Ofice, provided support for the meetings with different departments. The IR Office coordinated and arranged for their meetings with the different departments and moderated many such meetings.
From Tribhuvan University Nepal Prof. Hem Raj Pant, Prof. Ziaul Haque Ansari, Prof. Ram Kumar Sharma, Prof. Biben Das Mulmi and Mr Uttam Bista discussed their proposals for collaboration.
The meeting was attended by Prof P Arumugam, Prof. Vimal Srivastava, and Dr Ravikant Ranjan from IIT Roorkee, and later Prof. R P Saini also joined the meeting.
Both sides discussed developing new joint courses and teaching plans. Prof Arumugam proposed Joint Masters Program and elaborated on the process and departments interested in such programs. Prof Vimal Srivastava proposed close coordination between Department of Chemical Engg. And TU to develop new labs and courses.
Dr Ravikant Ranjan (IR Office) apprised about the different aspects of Internationalization and possible cooperation between TU and IIT Roorkee, including student exchange, faulty members visits and joint degree programs. The visiting delegates apprised the IR Office about their meetings with different departments of IIT Roorkee. The meeting conclude with resolved to coordinate closely and enhance the collaboration further between both partner organizations.
