Representing IIT Roorkee, Prof. KARUN RAWAT, Dean of International Relations, IIT Roorkee, participated in a strategic engagement at ESSEC Business School, Campus La Défense, Paris, as part of the IIT/IISc delegation visit to France from 8–12 June 2026.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Anne-Claire Pache, Dean for Strategy, Sustainability, and Alliances; Dr. Déborah Pawlik, Director of Legal, Public, and Institutional Affairs; Dr. Jan Lepoutre, Academic Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation; and Dr. Nicolas Landrin, Executive Director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Ms. Sapna Sachdeva, Head of Marketing, ESSEC Executive School.
During the visit, discussions focused on entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems, startup incubation, engineering-management double-degree programmes, student and faculty mobility, and opportunities for collaborative research and academic partnerships. The delegation also interacted with French startups associated with ESSEC’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, gaining valuable insights into innovation, technology commercialization, and startup development.
The engagement provided a platform to discuss dialogue and explore future collaborations between leading Indian and French institutions. The participation of representatives from the French Institute in India and the Embassy of France in India further underscored the shared commitment of both countries to advancing higher education, research, innovation, and international academic cooperation.
