Professor Sandeep Singh from the Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Roorkee, delivered an insightful lecture titled “The Relationship Between Himalayan Tectonics and the Southern Limit of the Eurasian Plate” at Shimane University, Japan.
Hosted by the Department of Earth Science, Prof. Singh’s lecture delved into the intricate relationship between Himalayan tectonics and its influence on the southern boundary of the Eurasian plate, showcasing cutting-edge research from IIT Roorkee.
During his visit, Prof. Singh had the opportunity to engage with students, who enthusiastically interacted with him, gaining insights into advanced research in tectonics. This invaluable interaction provided students with a unique learning experience, further enhancing academic exchange.
Additionally, Prof. Singh met with Prof. Kamei Atsushi, Vice President of Industry-University Collaboration and Innovation, and Prof. Kataoka Yoshimi, Vice President for Promotion of Globalization, along with faculty and staff from the Department of Earth Science, “Interdisciplinary Faculty of Science and Engineering”, and toured their laboratories, further strengthening research ties between the two institutions.
