On 29th October 2024, the International Relations Office at IIT Roorkee hosted an esteemed delegation from the Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor and the University of Belgrade, Serbia. The delegation included:
- Dr. Stevan Dimitrijević, Innovation Centre of TMF, University of Belgrade
- Dr. Silvana B Dimitrijević, Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor
- Dr. Aleksandra Ivanović, Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor
- M.Sc. Srđana Magdalinović, Mining and Metallurgy Institute Bor
They were accompanied by Prof. Nikhil Dhawan from the Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, IIT Roorkee, and met with Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations.
The meeting revolved around prospective avenues for academic and research exchanges in metallurgical, materials, and mining engineering. With a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation, both sides explored possibilities of collaborative research, joint degree programs, and student/faculty exchanges. In light of these promising discussions, steps are underway toward formalizing this partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further solidify our academic ties.
We extend our gratitude to the Serbian delegation for their visit and meaningful discussions, which have paved the way for impactful collaborations. This partnership promises to enhance our global footprint and drive advancements in sustainable mining and metallurgical practices.
