The International Relations Office at IIT Roorkee had the privilege of hosting Prof. Mahesh Anand, Professor of Planetary Science and Exploration from the School of Physical Sciences in the Open University, UK. He was accompanied by Prof. S.H. Upadhyay from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and Prof. Nachiketa Rai from the Department of Earth Sciences IIT Roorkee.
During their visit, Prof. Anand engaged in productive discussions with Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, focusing on fostering collaborative efforts between the two prestigious institutions. The deliberations explored potential areas of collaboration, including:
- Joint research initiatives in cutting-edge scientific domains.
- Student exchange programs to promote academic mobility.
- Faculty exchange programs for cross-cultural academic development.
Both sides expressed a keen interest in formalizing this partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to lay the foundation for long-term academic and research collaborations.
