The International Relations Office, IIT Roorkee, had the distinct pleasure of hosting Prof. Sunil Mithas from the Muma College of Business, University of South Florida, as part of his Vaishvik Bharatiya Vaigyanik (VAIBHAV) Fellowship. Prof. Mithas is currently visiting the Department of Management Studies (DoMS), IIT Roorkee, hosted by Prof. Gaurav Dixit.
During his visit, Prof. Mithas engaged in enriching discussions with Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, Prof. Rajat Agarwal, Head of the Department of Management Studies, and Prof. Gaurav Dixit, faculty at DoMS, IITR. These discussions explored potential avenues for collaboration between IIT Roorkee and the University of South Florida, aiming to unlock immense opportunities for academic and research synergies.
During his visit, Prof. Mithas delivered an engaging and insightful talk at DoMS titled: “Artificial Intelligence and Firm Innovation: Evidence from Large Online Job Postings.” He elaborated on the diverse impacts of AI capabilities on firm innovation, particularly the differential effects on industry leaders and laggards, leaving the audience inspired by his analysis and insights.
