1. Medical fitness test along with HIV test for all new international students is mandatory. The required tests are to be done at the institute’s hospital. The current charge for medical fitness test is INR 2000 (which may vary).


2. All international students must carry a medical insurance policy for their entire duration at the IIT Roorkee:
   
   
   1. For full time International Students, it is mandatory to purchase medical insurance from the Institute Group Insurance, currently INR 1,500 per year (which may vary), for their duration at the Institute. For details regarding the group insurance, students are advised to consult the International Relations Office.
   
   
   2. Students enrolled in short-term/exchange programme courses can carry a medical insurance policy from their home country which is valid in India.
