Name: Mlondolozi Thulebona Nxumalo Programme: M.Tech in Water Resources Development & Management - IIT-Roorkee. Sponsored Agency: ITEC
My name is Mlondolozi Thulebona Nxumalo. I am from the kingdom of Eswatini in Southern Africa. I am a second-year student in Water Resources management and development. I came to India through the I-Tech scholarship which the Government of India is graciously availing to all foreign civil servants to pursue degrees of higher education and skills and knowledge in universities around India. I was lucky enough to be offered the scholarship to come to IIT Roorkee.
IIT Roorkee welcomed me with the own hands, especially the IR office. They were very helpful. They familiarize me with a lot of things. Quickly I settled it and then I began the long chain of 24 months serious learning here at IITR. I am very happy to be here. I am very thankful to I-Tech for availing this opportunity to us as Africans. This is a huge help to African nations in their quest to achieve the strategies which every country is expected to achieve by today. So, I would like to encourage other Africans specially to consider coming to IIT Roorkee to get first class learning with advanced laboratories and the higher highly skilled professors.
Thank you.

Name: Darlington F. Doe Programme: M.Tech in Hydro and Renewable Energy Department (HRED)-IIT-Roorkee. Sponsored Agency: ITEC Present Position: Officer at Caritas and Development Office Monrovia), Government of Liberia
Hello everyone, I am Darlington F. Doe, a 2nd-year student specializing in Environmental Management from the Hydro and Renewable Energy Department (HRED)-IIT-Roorkee.
I am very grateful to my Office (Caritas and Development Office Monrovia) and the Government of Liberia to provide me this golden opportunity to be part of the India Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program. My gratitude to ITEC and the Indian Government.
The ITEC program provides an excellent platform for strengthening the India-Liberia bilateral relation, promoting human capacity development, which is an integral part of any nation’s transformation.
As a student of IIT-Roorkee, it is such a significant milestone in my life to represent Liberia among other colleagues attending one of the best universities in India and the world at large.
Although staying in India is challenging initially, coping with the new environment without families was a serious issue. However, ITEC had made every facility readily available to make her beneficiaries keep in touch with their families regularly and feel at home.
For the time being in India, I have met many new friends from India and countries benefiting from the ITEC programs. We often discuss how we can use our unique skills acquired in several fields of study, including Irrigation, Water Resources Management, Environment Management, Hydropower, etc., to help our government transform our countries in a positive direction.
I wish that this program continues to exist and continue to expand and diversify its thematic concentration.
Name: Tek Nath Adhikari Programme: M.Tech in Hydro and Renewable Energy Department (HRED)-IIT-Roorkee. Sponsored Agency: ITEC Present Position: Deputy Executive Engineer (Druk Green Power Corporation), Government of Bhutan.
Few year ago, I came to know about ITEC program which provides short term courses as long term study program to the participants. In Bhutan, this program has helped the professionals from various area of works to enhance their skills and knowledge. Under this program, many Bhutanese professionals especially from power sector and engineering education sector got opportunity to pursue M. Tech program at IIT Roorkee which has immensely benefited the respective sector. It is very good initiative from the government of India to help the partner countries for skill and human resource development.
In the year 2019, I also applied for the course and I was very lucky to be selected for such a prestigious program. I hope to use my knowledge and skill for development of hydropower in my country and I shall be ever grateful to the Government of India for sponsoring me for this program.
Name: Hari Bahadur Thapa Programme: M.Tech in Water Resources Development (2019-2021), IITR Sponsored Agency: ITEC Present Position: Senior Divisional Engineer (Class-II Officer) of Government of Nepal
Hello,
I am Hari Bahadur Thapa, Government Officer of Nepal, under ITEC sponsorship of Ministry of External Affair, India. Currently I am pursuing my M. Tech. Degree in Water Resource Development from Water Resources Development & Management Department, IIT Roorkee. ITEC has provided different opportunities for Nepalese students including me, which has become very helpful for me to develop my skill as well as enhance my knowledge for my professional and personnel capacity building and ultimately helpful for the development of water resources in the country. I found IITR as an ocean of knowledge, resources, and opportunities. Knowledge and experience shared by respected professors, resource persons and seniors are exclusive and beneficial for me. Together with this, learning and sharing with the colleague from different countries having different social, cultural, and technical dimension is also a big asset for me. It's amazing and remarkable experience that the institute has managed all academic activities in their best way even in COVID-19 pandemic situation too. That is also one of my best learning from IITR.
Nepal and India are not just geographical neighbors, but there is a long and deep historical, social, and cultural relation between them. During staying, I enjoyed with the core values of this relation in a wonderful environment given by IIT Roorkee and the people. I would like to offer my hearty thanks to Government of Nepal, MOEA-ITEC India and IIT Roorkee for providing me such an opportunity.
