On 09 March 2024, a friendly cricket match was held at the Lal Bahadur Stadium (IIT Roorkee) between the International Relations Office Staff and the IITR students from Nepal. This event was more than just a game; it symbolized the unity of the staff and students of the institute. The game commenced with a friendly handshake between the two captains, setting the tone for a sportsmanlike contest. The International Relations Office Staff won the toss and elected to bat first, eager to set a challenging target for the Nepali Students. The IR office team scored 128/8 runs in 16 overs, with Mr. Pramod Joshi scoring 72 runs for the IR staff team while Mr. Ajay took 3 wickets for the Nepali team. The Nepali team began their chase with determination, aiming to reach the target set by the IR Office Staff. The Nepali team successfully chased the target in 13 overs, with Mr. Rahul Scoring 71 runs, and won the match by 9 wickets. The players from both teams embraced each other in a display of mutual respect, highlighting the true essence of sportsmanship.

To boast the spirit of sportsmanship and encourage the players, Dean of International Relations, Prof V C Srivastava was also present to cheer the teams along with the friends and families.
